This terrific effort is very clearly built-to-age yet could probably be enjoyed after only 5-ish years

with sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruit

Giovanni Corino, Barolo Giachini Vintage:2005 It's fragrantCorino's 2003 Barolo is fresher on the palate than it is on the bouquet, where the aromatics are a bit more forward. This is a pretty Barolo that should stay at a plateau of maturity for at least a few years. In this tasting, the Giachini is not as impressive as it has been in the past. I would not be surprised if this is a less than perfect example. Antonio Galloni
