Description
the Hill of Roses does not possess
round textured charms with layers of licorice
This well-balanced effort is classic Mazoyères and very much built-to-age
almost salty finish
which speaks to the freshness achieved by this southeast-facing slope planted with centenary vines
Joseph Voillot, Pommard Pezerolles Size:12x750ml the Hill of Roses does(from a . 4 ha parcel planted in 1963). Once again there is generous wood and menthol elements on the spicy and ripe red berry fruit nose that is also trimmed in warm earth nuances. The refined, even lilting, medium weight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the naturally sweet and lingering finish. This more obviously structured effort is almost delicate at present though I suspect that the mid palate will further flesh out with bottle age.
